Artist Statement
“As an artist I paint with the goal of evoking emotion from the viewer whether it be an experience of restoration, relaxation and peace or complexity, curiosity, and interest as one peers upon a painting. I create textured modern art by manipulating a plaster mixture onto a canvas with layers of acrylic paint for a deep and unique outcome. I truly love working with my hands to create and tell stories through my works of art.”
Becoming an Artist
“I have always enjoyed the arts: from painting and drawing, to photography and design- ALL of it has intrigued me from a young age. While painting has always been a hobby I enjoyed as I found the time to create, it wasn’t until the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic that I found myself diving deep into this God given ability more than I ever had before. Painting was an outlet in a time I felt, and was, alone within my home. During this season I found so much joy, encouragement, and affirmation of what I was creating through textured art. In 2022 I left my current job to invest in painting becoming my full time career. The day after my last day of work at my past job I found out I was expecting a baby, and the dream of being a Mom was coming into reality. So now I am a full time mom and part-time artist. It is definitely busy and a balance I am still learning to grasp but both titles are a dream come true and I wouldn’t change a thing. We have had some amazing help with childcare as some weeks are busier than others within this career as an artist. I could not be doing this without the love, support, and help of my husband and family members.“
Giving Back
“It is my desire to donate a portion of each sale to organizations that aid, through physical and spiritual resources, individuals living below the poverty line. At the heart of every painting is the love of Christ and the hope to reach individuals near and far.”
“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death is at work in us, but life in you.”
